Off Page SEO
This is what is most important but works better when you have done onpage seo correctly.
You have to basically build links from other sites that link to your site, a bit like linking from your home page to your inner pages except you have no control other other websites so you have to ask, submit, comment or exchange.
Without going to deep into this process the more links you have the higher you will rise in the search engines. Some links you build will be stronger than others, this area of SEO is very complex so I am just going to show you how to build links in this basic guide.
I would say that the most important thing to try and do here is get links from websites that are related or closely related to your website. Links from websites based on the same subject are much stronger than links from unrelated websites.
This website is related to my SEO website and I am based in Salisbury, so to have a link from this site would be beneificial and if it included one of my targetted keywords it would be even better. For example SEO Salisbury.
Directories
Submit your website to online directories, some ask for you to link back, some are free and some are paid.
When you submit to a directory use your homepage keyword phrases that you researched and implemented into your homepage in the title. Every directory asks you to input your sites title so I would input either unique umbrellas or beautiful umbrellas or cheap big umbrellas.
It is wise to use these keywords in your description as well if possible.
Blogs
When you leave a comment in a blog you get to leave a link back to your site, do the same here again and use your keywords in your title.
Forums
Join forums and ask and answer questions, after you have done a certain amount of posts you will get to add a signature to your posts. Yet again make this link include your keywords.
Link Exchange
Email other websites and ask them for a link exchange, add a resources page to your site and have them listed there, they will do the same for you.
Press release
Write a press release about your website and post them at press release sites, leaving a link back to your website.
Articles
Write articles about your site, services or products and submit them to article websites, leaving a link back to your website which includes your keywords.
